Global Vipassana Pagoda - The grand golden-coloured pagoda





Today we meet one of Mumbai's attraction. It is Global Vipassana Pagoda. This beautiful monument is a tribute to the philosophies of Lord Gautam Budda and his wise lessons. A huge and grand golden-coloured conical structure along the Gorai creek, could be seen miles away from the fringes of Western Mumbai. 
The Global Vipassana Pagoda famous for Architecture, Meditation, Learning, Photography and Tourism. This is place that we learn Vipassana. This is free of cost. But if you want to attend session, you have to prior apply online. For internal peace many tourist visit this place.
It is to serve as a monument of peace and harmony. The Global Vipassana Pagoda has been built out of gratitude to Sayagyi U Ba Khin (1899 - 1971), Vipassana teacher and the first Accountant-General of Independent Burma, who was instrumental in Vipassana returning to India, the country of its origin.
The Global Vipassana Pagoda is declared as one of the "Seven Wonders of Maharashtra" by Maharashtra Tourism Development Corporation (MTDC). You must visit Global Vipassana Pagoda to witness the developments and its unique nature for getting selected as one of the seven wonders of the state. The grand golden-coloured pagoda and the huge statue of Lord Gautam Buddha leave visitors mesmerized.

The Global Vipassana Pagoda complex consists of the following structures:
·         Pagoda dome containing relics of the Buddha. The pillar-less structure of the massive Pagoda dome encompasses a meditation hall to seat around 8,000 Vipassana meditators - the largest such meditation hall in the world.
·         Vipassana meditation center Dhamma Pattana
·         Museum depicting the historical life of the Buddha
·         Two smaller pagodas on the north and south side
·         Library and study rooms
·         Circumambulation path around the dome
·         Administration building
·         Underground parkade
·         Vipassana Research Institute office and facility for Pali study program
·         Dhammalaya Guest House for Vipassana meditators
The south pagoda contains 108 meditation cells for use by Vipassana students taking a meditation course at the adjoining meditation centre.

कोविड आणि Work From Home (WFH)

कोरोनानं घातलेल्या थैमानामुळे अनेकजण आज Work From Home करतांना दिसत आहे. काही जण खूप आनंदात आहेत. पण काहींना या राक्षसानं जेरीस आणलेलं आहे. असं काय घडतय की Work From Home खरंच अनेकजणांना त्रासदायक वाटतय. पण खरंच हे इतकं त्रासदायक आहे का? आजची परिस्थिती: Work From Home :- बाहेर कोरोनाने अक्षरशः थैमान घातलं आहे. गेले दोन महिने सर्वजण Lock Down चा अनुभव घेत आहेत. काही कंपन्यांना आपल्या एम्प्लॉइजना घरी काम करण्यास सांगितले आहे. म्हणजे ऑफिसची जी काम घरी बसून करता येतात ती आपण करू शकतो. यासाठी लॅपटॉप किंवा डेस्कटॉप आणि इंटरनेटची गरज आहे. खरे तर ही संस्कृती तशी Multi National Companies त्यातल्या त्यात आयटी कंपन्यांनी आणलेली असं म्हणायला हरकत नाही. घरी बसून आपले आठ तास पूर्ण करा पण काम कराच अशी ही संकल्पना. पण याचा गैरफायदा इथेही घेण्यात येत आहे. कंपन्यांसाठी बरेचजण  सध्या शनिवार रविवारसह १२-१२ आणि कधीकधी तर १८ तास काम करत आहेत. त्यामुळे खरंच व्रक फ्रॉम होम योग्य की अयोग्य हा प्रश्न वाढत चालला आहे. डोळे ताणून डोक्याला झिणझिण्या येईस्तोवर घरातून काम करा. मग एकच ....अरे ऑफिसच परवडल...

काही दिवसापूर्वी एका महिला पत्रकाराला बातमी संदर्भात कॉल केला... बोलणं झाल्यानंतर सहज विचारलं काय गं कशी आहेस? काळजी घे समोरनं उत्तर आलं छान आणि हो थँक्स असं विचारल्याबद्दल... खरंच मनातल्या लहरींनी वेग धरला... म्हणाले असं का बोलतेस ... अगं तुला एक मुलगा आहे तो लहान आहे आणि तरी तू रिपोर्टींग करतेस... तरी जरा संभाळून... तिने हो असे उत्तर दिल...  काळजी घे.... हे शब्द सध्या खूप महत्वाचे आहेत... कोरोनामध्ये आज प्रत्येक रिपोर्टर, कॅमेरामनच नाही तर डेस्कवर असणारे, एडिटर, प्रोड्युसर, एंकरपासून सर्वजण जीव मुठीत ठेवून काम करत आहेत. बोलणारे महाभाग बोलतातही आम्ही थोडी करायला सांगितलं आहे का... पण आज ज्या बातम्या आपण बघतो किंवा एक एक issue बघतो ते फक्त आणि फक्त या मीडियामुळे साध्य होते. माझी बहिण आजही ऑफिसला जाते. त्यांच्याकडे आजही वातावरण ब-यापैकी तंग असतं. अनेकजणांना अगदी तिच्या बाजूच्याला कोरोना झाला होता. घरी लहान मुलगा आणि म्हातारे सासरे... पण ती ऑफिसला आजही जाते.  बोलणारे बोलणार तिला काय शहाणपणा करायची गरज आहे. पण हा तिचा job profile आहे. तिचे किस्से खरंच काळजाला धडकी भरणा...
